Disney came to us with their sustainability initiatives, specifically their desire to transition to plastic-free packaging beginning with their Disney princess dolls. This represented a bold step for Disney, not only requiring a redesign of packaging, but also a shift in consumer preferences, as the new shopping experience would no longer allow customers to see the actual dolls.
On Earth Day 2021, Disney unveiled their plastic-free packaging for 15 of their classic princess dolls. The packaging is made of sustainably sourced paper which is 100% recyclable. Each box is thematically designed to reflect the unique story of the individual doll. It is easy to open and the durable construction and creative graphics encourage using the box as a prop at playtime or storage anytime. Disney took a risk by simply featuring a photo of the doll on the package, a choice that has been met with great approval. Disney has extended this packaging concept to other product lines. We are honored that Disney entrusted us with this monumental move towards a more sustainable future.
